Why I built the book generator
About 6 months ago, I had the desire to read. I had never read an entire book in my life, let alone during my free time. Maybe that is just something that comes from getting older.
I was constantly looking online to find a book to purchase, but with the number of options, reviews, and best sellers. It was really hard to choose which one to go with. Eventually, I just had to start buying books, reading them, and deciding if I liked them.
Which is all fine and dandy, but I thought to myself “I wish there was a way I could put a couple of different topics into an application and it would curate a list and allow me to comb through them. Much to my surprise, there weren’t many options for generating books based on subject, or genre.
The options that were out there were very clunky and a little weird to use. We wanted to make something that was simple, but very powerful.
Now, this is the only way that I choose which book to read next.
What Is the book Generator
The Book Generator is an application built to help book lovers worldwide find the books they enjoy reading.
The app allows you to search by subject/genre or author.
Once you have that selected, you type in the subject or author.
Then hit start finding books.
The Books Generator is connected to ISBNDB through external an external API. This means the application is connected to the world’s largest online database of books. You can find whatever type of book you are looking for.
Of course, we have put parameters around which type of books it pulls through but as time goes on those are things that we can update.
After hitting start finding books you will see the cover of the book, title, author, and synopsis. If you want to scroll to the next book, just hit next.
Can’t decide which book you like better? Well, you can always hit the previous book button, allowing you to go back.
Once you have found the desired book you would like to read, you simply click the green button that says “Get It.” It then takes you over to Amazon where you can make the purchase.
It is literally like having your own personal library.
