The purpose creator method helps create your purpose. What is my purpose? Is one of the most asked questions humans ask themselves throughout their lives. The question everyone should be asking is:
Why is it that some people find it and 95% of the world doesn’t?
The thing about finding your purpose is that it doesn’t exist. If you are just sitting idly thinking a purpose is just going to knock on your door and take you to the promised land. Then you have a lot of work to do.
There is no purpose out there meant just for you. A purpose is something that you create. It is through discovering who you are and your natural talents and abilities.
Once those talents and abilities have been discovered, you must work diligently to improve upon them. From there, you start to use them to serve others. That in a nutshell, is your purpose!
It took me over 10 years to understand this and now I am going to share the step-by-step process I like to call The Purpose Creator:
- Reading Jump starts the process
- Morning routine
- Discover your talents and abilities
- Be of service
Reading starts the Purpose creating process
There are so many people today who are stuck and struggle to find any sort of motivation to do anything. They continue to run in places like they are stuck in a hamster wheel and don’t know how to get off. They want change in their life but don’t know where to start.
Often, they overthink everything which causes even more inaction, frustration, and confusion. Creating your purpose is much simpler than anything you are conjuring up in your head right now.
Where It All Starts
It all starts with your desire to learn. There are millions upon millions of books in the world but hardly anybody takes the time to read them. Why? Because the answers can be found so quickly just by doing one google search.
You miss out on so many things when you go straight to the answer. Like how that person was able to come up with the conclusion. The failures people had to get to where they are.
You wouldn’t read a novel or watch a show from the very last page or episode. There would be no lasting gratification from doing that. You’d be surprised for a moment, but it would fade so quickly.
There are no shortcuts in life. If you truly want to formulate a purpose for your life, then you must start with the basics. Start learning from people who have created massive success in their life. Understand how they did it and replicate it in your own life.
By doing so you will unlock a whole new world that you wouldn’t even of known existed if you didn’t take the time to learn.
Jim Rohn said it best “If you want to live a top shelf life, you have to stand on the books you’ve read to get there. Never stop learning, never stop growing.”
Develop Yourself Personally
Now that you understand how to start, you may be asking “what do I read?” I would start with reading personal development books. This will help you understand who you are and what you are capable of.
Jim Rohn said “Learn to work harder on yourself, then you do on your job.”
Now a fair warning. Once you start on the path, you will start to encounter things that you aren’t so great at. You will find some weaknesses that you didn’t realize were there. Get books on how to be better at those. Turn them into strengths.
Also, think about the things you are currently doing right now in your life. Find books on how to be better at what you are currently doing. Odds are someone out there is doing exactly what you are doing or has done it and written a book about how they were successful.
Why spend time trying to figure it out when you could literally read a book that explains everything in detail?
Put into action the things you learn
Put into action the things you learn. Yeah, reading is great for memory, innovation, creativity, and motivation. But without acting, it will just be useless information and you won’t remember any of it.
Morning routine
Creating a morning will allow you to show the universe that you are ready and serious about making a change in your life. This step is a must and is non-negotiable. You need to understand that the way you have been living has gotten you where you are today. So why not make a change?
There are also many other benefits to waking up early. Leila Cruz from the ClickUP blog explains “A solid morning routine will brighten your mood and give you more energy during the day, reduce anxiety, boost your productivity levels, and make you feel better overall!
It’s hard, I know. I tried for years to wake up at 5 am and exercise consistently. I’d wake up one day here and another day there and it was too hard to sustain. Once I had a desire in my heart to become the man that I know I could be, my whole life changed. Getting up in the morning is easy now. I love it. I feel like I am the only person awake at that time and it just fuels my fire.

Discover talents and abilities To Create your purpose
I always believed that my talents and abilities would just be so obvious and apparent. I thought I didn’t have to do anything, and I would be able to waltz my way to success. It took me years of doing the same thing repeatedly to finally understand, maybe I should do things a little differently.
Ask the right questions
One of the aspects I changed was the questions I would ask myself. I would ask myself things like what are my talents and abilities or what am I good at? Those questions are so surface level you will only be able to come up with answers that you already know. Sometimes you won’t even get any answers. Or you will think you are on to something, and you will quickly realize that you were wrong.
Some of the questions I started asking myself were:
What is keeping me from finding my talents and abilities?
What is causing me not to have the success I want in my life?
What can I read to understand?
How can I use what I have right now to serve others?
These questions go from being surface-level to deep probing questions that allow you to get in touch with your subconscious. Your subconscious is perfect. It is divine. Your subconscious mind wants to shower you with all the wealth, joy, happiness, and success that the world can offer. You need to learn to listen to it.
Since your subconscious is perfect, it would never lead you astray. You must understand that if you have a thought that is bad then that isn’t from your subconscious mind. The subconscious mind will only steer you toward actions that are good. So, you need to learn to decipher the good from the bad.
Think Back To When You Were A Kid
Once you have started asking the right questions. Start thinking about your childhood. Think about the things that you loved to do. Think about an experience where you did something that you were extremely proud of. Then once you have something in mind, play around with it. If it excites you, then I think you found a winner.
For me, this blog was something I created because of the purpose finder method. I remember when I was in 2nd grade, I wrote a story about a wizard and a magical mountain. I vividly remember my teacher being impressed with the story and my imagination. My grammar probably wasn’t the greatest and it still has a lot of work.
It took me about 30 days of applying the Purpose Finder method to come across that memory. I realized, one of the things that I love to do is write. I can convey my thoughts and feelings so much easier on paper than I can with my voice. So, I decided to start a blog and share my experiences in hopes of being of service to someone else who may be struggling like I was.
Go through past experiences and challenges
It can be hard to relive some old memories that weren’t the greatest. Trust me, I have my fair share. No one is immune to bad experiences that haunt them every day. It is important to revisit them though. When you start digging into those past experiences, it is important to focus on the things that you can learn from them. This is solely an exercise to help you pull life lessons from your past.
Take those lessons and write them down on a piece of paper with as much detail as you can. Read it aloud, switch rooms, look at it upside down and spin it around five times. The point is to look at it from a different perspective. Then ask yourself, how can I use my past experiences to help others?
Be of service
“The reality is for us to be truly fulfilled and not just have moments or periods of fleeting happiness, we cannot just be self-serving, we also need to be servants leading to be truly fulfilled.” Chad E Cooper wrote in his blog titled The Importance of Being in Service to Others for your Own Success.
No one can fully reach their potential by simply caring about themselves. There are laws that govern this world. Not just legal laws but laws that control the flow of the earth. There are laws of gravity, and laws of nature, and there are laws to creating a life filled with success, wealth, and joy.
It is the law of gifting and receiving. The more you give the more you receive. It is never a one-way street. Often when we give to the homeless or give our time in our careers it can feel like it is. I assure you that the universe sees that and will reward you with all that you want.
Service drives change
When you serve others, it does something to you. It causes you to really reflect on the purpose of life. You will start to understand that your purpose isn’t to benefit you. Your purpose is to use your talents and abilities to help others for which you will be rewarded.
It took me a long time to understand that the more service you can provide to the marketplace, the more success, wealth, and happiness the marketplace will return to you.
